Sutton Coldfield Conservative Club member Alan Tudor and local MP Andrew Mitchell met with Dawn-Marie Turner, Regional Coordinator for Help for Heroes, to present the charity with a cheque for £1,300. Alan raised over £1,000 for the Conservative Club Chairman\'s Charity, Help for Heroes. Alan, an ex-serviceman, raised the sum from Conservative Club members who sponsored him to complete the Great Midlands Fun Run which took place in June 2010. The Conservative Club’s 2010 Christmas Draw raised the last £300. Dawn-Marie assured Alan that every penny raised will go to help injured servicemen, adding that in the last 3 years the charity had raised some £86m. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I am proud to be a member of a Club that has raised such a substantial sum of money for Help for Heroes.
