Sutton Coldfield’s Conservative Association held its AGM last Friday in the impressive surroundings of Sutton’s Town Hall. Present at the meeting were the outgoing President Honorary Alderman David Roy OBE, all of Sutton’s Conservative Councillors, its MP Andrew Mitchell and MEP Anthea Mcintyre, along with more than 100 members of the Association. Items on the agenda included the appointment of new Association Officers and a wider discussion looking forward to the General Election in 2015. Andrew Mitchell answered questions about a range of local and national issues facing the Conservative Party, and outlined their views in the run up to the election. The AGM also saw the election of Sir Doug Ellis, a long-time supporter of the Association in Sutton, and outgoing President David Roy as honorary Vice-Presidents of the Sutton Coldfield Conservatives in recognition of their many years of service to the Association.
